With an exceptional near-perfect GPA and a trailblazing spirit, Onovu has shattered barriers and set a new standard of academic excellence.
Established during Reconstruction shortly after the Civil War in 1868, Albany High School has a rich history spanning over a century and a half. Yet, until now, the distinction of valedictorian has eluded Black students. Onovu’s achievement is not only a personal triumph but also a profound symbol of progress and inclusion.
For Onovu, the journey to valedictorian was marked by dedication, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Her academic prowess, coupled with her exemplary leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities, distinguished her as a standout student. From being president of the robotics team and the Key Club to serving as editor-in-chief of the school’s online newspaper, Onovu has demonstrated her commitment to excellence in all endeavors.
However, Onovu’s impact extends beyond the classroom. She is a beacon of inspiration and empowerment for her peers and the broader community. Through her involvement in the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP), volunteering at a nursing home, and participating in Bible-based education outreach, Onovu embodies the values of service, compassion, and leadership.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Onovu is a talented musician, skilled in playing both the piano and violin. Her passion for music, coupled with her intellectual curiosity and leadership skills, exemplifies her multifaceted talents and her ability to excel in diverse domains.
In her own words, Onovu is a goal-oriented and highly motivated individual with a passion for solving complex problems and serving her community. Her record of achieving the Principal’s List all four years of high school attests to her dedication and commitment to academic excellence.

At just 18 years old, Hannah Ann Enyan has achieved a remarkable feat, becoming the youngest Chartered Accountant in Ghana. Her journey to this milestone was marked by dedication, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Hannah Ann, a former student of Labone Senior High School, was among the distinguished graduates of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) in 2021. The prestigious ceremony, held at the University of Professional Studies in Accra, recognized her exceptional accomplishment and welcomed her into the ranks of Ghana’s accounting elite.
During the 36th Graduation ceremony, Hannah Ann stood out among her peers, receiving accolades and admiration for her remarkable achievement. Her journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant exemplifies the transformative power of hard work, determination, and unwavering commitment to one’s goals.
Acknowledging the role of divine grace and the support of her family, as well as the dedicated faculty and staff of ICAG, Hannah Ann expressed her gratitude for the guidance and encouragement she received throughout her academic journey.
