Mustapha Khalilah Anjolaoluwa is a young lady who has made history in the field of medicine. She recently graduated from Bowen University, Southwest Nigeria, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB; BS) degree with five distinctions and the best-graduating student award in Family Medicine .
Anjolaoluwa, who also holds a BSc degree in Biochemistry, shared her achievement on Twitter, celebrating her induction into the medical profession and expressing her gratitude to God and her parents. She wrote: “I was inducted into the Medical Profession today. Dr. Mustapha Khalilah Anjolaoluwa, BSc.Biochemistry, MB; BS (BOWEN). 8 years, 5 distinctions, Best Graduating Student in Community Medicine. I am so proud of myself and I am thankful to Almighty Allah and my parents.”
Anjolaoluwa’s story is an inspiration to many young people who aspire to pursue their dreams and excel in their chosen fields. She has shown that with hard work, dedication and perseverance, anything is possible. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Nigeria has one of the lowest ratios of doctors to population in Africa, with only 0.4 physicians per 1,000 people as of 2018. This means that there is a huge gap in the health care system and a need for more qualified and competent medical professionals. Anjolaoluwa is one of the young talents who can help bridge this gap and improve the quality of health care in Nigeria and beyond. She deserves to be celebrated for her remarkable achievement and contribution to society.
Anjolaoluwa is not only a brilliant student but also a leader and a role model. She was the president of the Bowen University Medical Students Association (BUMSA) from 2020 to 2021. She also participated in various academic and extracurricular activities, such as seminars, workshops, conferences, community service projects and sports. She has won several awards and recognitions, such as the Best Student in Biochemistry, the Best Student in Physiology, the Best Student in Pathology, the Best Student in Pharmacology and the Best Student in Surgery.
Anjolaoluwa has a vision to make a positive impact in the world through medicine. She plans to pursue further studies and specialize in neurosurgery. She also hopes to mentor other young people who want to follow her footsteps and achieve their goals. She said: “I want to be a neurosurgeon because I love challenges and I want to save lives. I also want to inspire other young people to believe in themselves and work hard for their dreams.”
Anjolaoluwa is a rising star of Nigerian medicine and a true example of excellence. She has proven that nothing is impossible with determination, discipline and devotion. She has made her family, her university and her country proud. She is a shining light for the future of Africa.
Dr. Oluwo Adedunmola is another remarkable young woman who achieved four successful businesses while studying medicine in Europe. Many young Nigerians look up to her as a role model because she has overcome challenges to reach her goals.
Dr. Oluwo was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, and attended the prestigious Queen’s College there.
