Born and raised in Chicago, Payton Pitts attended Francis Parker School, where he distinguished himself as a star student, athlete, and leader. But perhaps most notably, Payton played a pivotal role in revitalizing his school’s Black Student Union, creating a space for camaraderie and support among Black students in a predominantly white institution.
Payton’s achievements did not go unnoticed, especially when Ivy Day arrived – the day when Ivy League schools reveal their admissions decisions. For Payton, Ivy Day brought a wave of relief and excitement as he received acceptance letters from Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Penn, Columbia, and Cornell. His mother, Adrienne Pitts, described the moment as a culmination of years of hard work and dedication, a testament to Payton’s unwavering drive to succeed against all odds.
But Payton’s journey to success is about more than just academic achievement; it’s about breaking barriers and defying expectations. As a young Black man from Chicago, Payton faced numerous challenges and obstacles on his path to success. Yet, he refused to let those challenges define him, choosing instead to rise above them and carve out his own path to greatness.

At just 17 years old, Skylar achieved a remarkable feat by graduating from Grayson High School in Georgia with a stellar 4.10 cumulative grade point average, a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence and her indomitable spirit.
However, Skylar’s journey to success has been marked by more than just academic achievement; it has been defined by perseverance, resilience, and a steadfast dedication to making a difference in the world. Despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks along the way, Skylar has remained undeterred in her pursuit of her dreams, fueled by a burning passion to create positive change and leave a lasting impact on the world around her.
For Skylar, the path to success has been anything but easy. From a young age, she faced adversity and hardship, including the untimely loss of her mother to a serious health condition when she was just 11 years old. Yet, instead of allowing tragedy to define her, Skylar used it as fuel to propel herself forward, channeling her grief into motivation and determination to honor her mother’s memory and make her proud.
Skylar’s resilience and determination were on full display when she received the news of her acceptance to Duke University, her dream school. Rather than celebrate alone, Skylar chose to share the moment with her late mother, visiting her gravesite to open the acceptance email by her side. It was a poignant and emotional moment, a testament to Skylar’s unwavering love for her mother and her desire to include her in every aspect of her life, even in death.
